First and foremost, you should determine the amount of space available for installing a SPAL cooling fan. In choosing the fan size, you should select the one with the largest diameter that can fit your car. Of your car uses a V8 engine, the most recommended SPAL fan is the 11-inch dual fan assembly. For larger sized V8 engines, a 12-inch dual fan is also available for assembly.

There are also single fans that offer a high output solution. The HO series of SPAL fans are available in 11, 12, and 16 inches. You should take note of the fan specifications, especially if you have larger V8 engines. A higher airflow means the fan is more powerful. Remember that the cooling system is a vital part under the hood; so don’t settle for cheap brands that wear out easily. SPAL cooling fans are intelligently designed so they can be mounted in various ways. The straps and brackets are available in various lengths for your customized mounting. The sides of the SPAL fans have multiple slide-in flanges. This is where you slide in your brackets, straps and bolts. Another option is the pin mount, where you mount the fan directly to the radiator core. It is the easiest mount to use.

An additional device for your SPAL cooling fan is the programmable fan controller. It is a state of the art device and will work off of the signal from your existing temperature gauge. It allows you to change the speed of a single SPAL fan depending on the temperature of the engine. To set up, simply choose the high and low temperature settings that you prefer. When the engine temperature decreases, the fan speed will spin at 50% speed. As the engine temperature rises, the SPAL fan will increase its speed until it reaches the highest setting. At this point, the fan will spin at a full 100% speed. With this, the lifespan of your SPAL cooling fan is increased, and the operational noise is reduced as well. Another way to optimize the performance of your SPAL cooling fan is to install the highly effective thermostatic sensor. With this, the fans will automatically run when the temperature reaches 185 or 195 degrees, depending on how you set it up. These kits will work for most of the SPAL fan models, except for the HO series fans.
